Active research topics
As part of the Department of Production and Management Engineering, the Laboratory of Robotics and Automation conducts and promotes research addressing applied problems in the fields of industrial and service robotics, as well as industrial automation. In anticipation of the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution, the laboratory’s members employ state-of-the-art tools to advance the scientific and technological frontiers in their areas of expertise — including robotics, computer vision, intelligent systems, and pattern recognition. Their work also focuses on integrating these technologies seamlessly with other key Industry 4.0 domains, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, cloud computing, big data analytics, simulation, additive manufacturing, and augmented reality.
