Cognitive Robotics and AI

In conjunction with the 13th EETN Conference on Artificial Intelligence

Support

This workshop is supported by the Archimedes / Athena Research Center, the Institute of Robotics (IRO) / Athena Research Center  Center EU Horizon Europe “PILLAR-Robots” project, and the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) – Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH).

Student/Early Career Researcher Participation Grants

We believe that our workshop will be effective and impactful only if attended by members from all levels of research/academia. Given that attending scientific events can be expensive, especially for early career researchers and those in developing countries, we award Workshop Participation Grants. These grants provide a contribution towards the cost of registration, accommodation, and meals, as well as the cost of travel to and from the workshop venue. Additional costs due to individual accessibility needs (e.g., disability or medical needs) and childcare needs (e.g., bringing children to a meeting) will also be taken into consideration. The amount of the grant will depend on the distance to be traveled and any additional costs and will not exceed 600 Euros.

Eligibility conditions:

Applicants must be either registered at the time of application for a higher degree (e.g., Master, PhD) or be without access to other sources of funding for workshop attendance (e.g., unwaged postdocs, part-time early career researchers) or a “Developing Country Applicant.” To be eligible as a “Developing Country Applicant,” you must be BOTH a citizen of, AND working within, a Low or Middle-Income country as defined by the World Bank

Presentation of a paper at the workshop is not a condition of eligibility, but applicants are strongly encouraged to present at least a short paper (ideas and plans for synergy are always welcome).

Funding is conditional on workshop attendance. Successful applicants will usually receive their funding after the event and should retain all receipts and other proofs of payment to claim their grant.

We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community and aim to ensure fair and equitable representation and participation throughout all our activities and in the wider cognitive robotics and AI research community, irrespective of characteristics including but not limited to age, disability, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality.

Application Process:

Please send your CV and a letter of motivation (including (a) why it is important for you to attend the event, (b) an indicative cost breakdown, and (c) information on any other sources/applications for funding for this event) to the workshop organizers: kpastra (at) athenarc.gr, and ktsintot (at) pme.duth.gr by July 20th, 2024.
