{"id":43,"date":"2022-07-21T13:47:46","date_gmt":"2022-07-21T10:47:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/robotics.pme.duth.gr\/workshop_active2\/?page_id=43"},"modified":"2023-05-26T16:57:02","modified_gmt":"2023-05-26T13:57:02","slug":"participation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/robotics.pme.duth.gr\/workshop_active2\/?page_id=43","title":{"rendered":"Participation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear Colleagues, we are pleased to announce the half-day workshop series 2 on &#8220;Active methods in autonomous navigation&#8221; to be held at ICRA 2023 in London, UK, on Friday, June 2, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Motivation &amp; Goal<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The scope of this all-day workshop is to gather researchers from several research areas across different sections related to navigation, such as driverless cars technology, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), humanoids locomotion, rover navigation, social navigation, SLAM &#8211; including re-localization and loop-closure detection, swarm navigation, semantic mapping, <em>etc<\/em>. Moreover, we will also encourage Size, Weight, Area and Power (SWAP) aware navigation methods and bio-inspired approaches to perception for mobile-robot autonomy. This way, the discussion will range from previously experienced problems to contemporary solutions. At the same time, future trends could focus on purposive perception planning since it remains an open problem in the community. Talks from eight (8) recognized scholars\/researchers in the field and questions and answers during the all-day workshop would permit the participation of the audience with the pioneers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Call for papers<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We invite the submission of extended abstracts, dataset papers, robot technologies, and interactive demonstration summaries related to autonomous navigation based on active perception or action and perception-coupled methods. <br>Topics of interest to this workshop include (but are not limited to) papers describing active solutions in a series of areas: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Autonomous navigation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perception-action coupling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Driverless cars<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Size, weight, area and power (SWAP) &#8211; aware design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bio-inspired navigation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planetary exploration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swarm behavior<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social navigation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Semantic mapping and navigation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visual place recognition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visual odometry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hyper-dimensional computing for perception<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human action recognition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Space robotics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Submissions should be in <strong>ICRA<\/strong> standard <strong>pdf format<\/strong> and be a <strong>maximum of 4 pages<\/strong>.
